Terms of use
Draft — under legal review, last updated 6 November 2026.
By using Papqle you agree to these rules. In these terms, "we" means Papqle. We have written them in plain words so it is clear what you can and cannot do.
What Papqle is
Papqle is a platform that brings patients' and families' experiences into the open. Patients share their experiences of doctors, hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres, so others can choose with better information. No provider can pay for a better rating.
Who can write a review
You must be 18 or older. You can review care you received yourself, or care you arranged as a guardian, from your own account. You confirm this before you submit. A provider cannot review their own profile.
Posting with your name or anonymously
At the start of a review you choose: post with your name, or post anonymously. Nothing is chosen for you in advance.
An anonymous review never shows your name to anyone, including signed-in users. Authorised Papqle staff can still see who wrote it, because we need that to check reviews and prevent abuse.
What a review must be
- Truthful, and about your own firsthand experience.
- At least 50 characters long.
- Free of abuse, threats and hate.
- Free of anyone's private information: phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers, other patients' health details.
- Free of false accusations against anyone.
Adding proof
Adding proof is your choice. A photo or PDF of a receipt or prescription helps show that a visit took place, so a review with proof counts 3×; without proof it counts 1×. Proof is never shown publicly.
Upload only your own papers, or the papers of someone whose care you arranged as their guardian. Proof does not make every statement in a review true; it only supports that a visit took place.
How reviews are checked
- A person on our team reads every review before it is published. Automated checks only flag problems; they never publish or reject on their own.
- Staff may publish a review, ask for changes or reject it. The reason appears in My Reviews.
- A review sent back for changes or rejected can be resubmitted within 30 days.
Reporting a review
Any signed-in user can report a published review once: abusive, hateful, false or defamatory, contains private information, not a real experience, or another reason. Only our staff can see who reported. A doctor or hospital cannot report reviews on its own profile; it uses the dispute process below.
When several different people report a review, our team looks at it quickly. Sometimes the review is hidden for a while, sometimes not. For example, if people report a review as false or defamatory, it stays visible with an "Under review" note until staff decide. We aim to look at private-information reports within 24 hours. Repeated reports made in bad faith can themselves break these rules.
When a review is removed
Staff remove a published review only with a recorded reason: it is erroneous, unlawful, dangerously private, or removal is legally required. No one can pay or ask to have criticism erased.
Before removal we give you at least 7 days' notice in My Reviews. In that time you can change the text or explain. Only clearly unlawful content or private information is removed immediately, without notice, and the reason is still recorded.
What happens if rules are broken
Each time one of your reviews is removed, or staff confirm that a report you made was in bad faith, you get a strike. The first strike is a warning. The second means 15 days without posting or reporting, the third 30 days, and the fourth a permanent block. Strikes expire after 12 months, and staff can reverse one made by mistake.
If a review is removed for private information or unlawful content, you cannot review that provider again unless staff lift the block. If it is removed for being false or defamatory, you can review that provider again only for a different visit month.
Provider replies and disputes
- A claimed provider can post one public reply per review and edit it later; earlier versions are kept on record.
- A claimed provider can dispute a review. Until staff decide, the review stays visible with an "under dispute" note and the provider's counter-comment.
- One appeal is allowed against the decision, decided by a different staff member. A further appeal needs genuinely new evidence.
- The reviewer can respond privately to staff, never directly to the provider.
Claiming a profile
Claiming a profile is free for the initial release. Staff check the provider's identity and BMDC registration or licence, normally within 7 working days. Claiming does not change ratings or reviews, and the "Claimed" label is not a rating of medical quality.
Not medical advice
Papqle shares patients' reported experiences. It does not give medical advice and does not measure medical skill. Decisions about your care are for you and your doctor. In an emergency, go straight to a doctor or hospital instead of searching on Papqle.
What we cannot promise
A review is the view of the person who wrote it. We cannot guarantee that every statement is true, or that the service will always run without interruption. Full terms, including legal limits of liability, will be added after legal review. This text is a draft and is not legal advice.
